Assetz Academy celebrates its 6-month anniversary.

We launched Assetz Academy, our internal L&D platform, on 1st February 2022! It’s the digital home of all learning and has transformed self-development for our colleagues whilst supporting the ‘we give back’ value.

The Academy is a cloud-based online platform that can also be accessed using an App so colleagues can learn while on the move or at a time that suits them. Training on a range of different topics is available in a variety of formats to suit all learning styles, from personal delivery by L&D Manager Natasha Federici, to bite size videos, webinars, podcasts and more! Plus, points on the company-wide leader board can be achieved by completing any type of course.

“Learning needs to be part of our culture – we all need to develop. So, we launched the Academy to make learning accessible, digestible and engaging for our colleagues. It’s not always about taking time out the business, but instead adding training to our everyday".

We’ve realigned the expectations of learning by showing colleagues it’s not about death by PowerPoint presentations and hours of e-learning. Instead, we’ve updated our compliance modules, run lots of interactive workshops and a companywide engaging team building session. Now colleagues know and understand what training, learning and the Academy is all about. 

The Academy has opened up a range of opportunities to colleagues which they have engaged with more than I could ever have imagined, truly embracing the culture of learning we’re creating. This just shows that colleagues want development whether that’s within their role or putting steps in place to progress into a promotional one. When we make the tools accessible that colleagues need they’ll make the time to use them.

We’ve completely changed our colleagues experience from day one. Once we offer a candidate a job, they can work through our digital onboarding module where they get welcomed into the business. They then have the tools they need from their first day to excel in their role. From there all colleagues have the opportunity to take on professional qualifications, apprenticeships and be matched with a mentor. We also provide support through different routes to map out personal and professional goals. 

We’ve stopped thinking about learning as a ‘1 day course I need to attend’ but instead a continuous, daily and evolving process which might look different for each individual.

This is just the beginning of our exciting learning journey. There’s so much more to come.
