As with most forms of investment, peer-to-peer lending carries a degree of risk to your capital; in this case, if the borrower is unable to repay their loan. At Assetz Capital, we seek to reduce this risk to our investors by taking asset security on every loan, with the added benefit of a discretionary Provision Fund for some of our investment accounts. Investment Account target interest rates should be considered along with the relevant Investment Account expected defaults & losses information. Past performance does not guarantee future performance. We recommend that prospective lenders read the Key Investor Information pages before investing.
Peer-to-Peer investment involves lending your money directly to individuals or businesses without going through traditional financial intermediaries such as a bank.
Generally the process offers greater transparency and may offer a fairer rate of return than traditional investments but it does carry a degree of risk to your capital if the borrower is unable to repay their loan. In the UK, Peer-to-Peer lending is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Through our nationwide team of Relationship Directors, we take the time to visit every potential borrower to establish whether they are credit-worthy businesses before we introduce them to our lenders.
Investors pay no fees for using our platform and typically earn interest on a monthly basis.
Unlike many other Peer-to-Peer platforms, Assetz Capital seeks to reduce risk to our investors by taking asset security against every loan.
Assetz Capital sources a loan, meets the prospective borrower and provides all the necessary documentation to assist you in making an informed decision on whether to invest in the business or not.
Once the rate of interest and the security has been determined and agreed, the loan is then funded by individual investors and/or a financial institution.
After funding, the loan amount is held in a segregated client money account in accordance with FCA rules, while the borrower's security goes into the Assetz Capital Trust, our security trustee, to be held on behalf of lenders.
Once security is in place the borrower can then “draw down” the loan and start paying the pre-agreed amount of interest.
