The funds acquired from the loan was added to Martin’s own cash resources to purchase the freehold of the 100-year-old warehouse being used as a workshop and storage area for the business.

The owner, Martin Chilcott has been operating in this sector for over 34 years and currently employs five full time staff, including his wife Carol and son James. They pride themselves on offering a more personal service than the larger national retailers in the area.

Impact

The newly purchased warehouse will continue to be used to hold the business stock until planning permission is acquired to build 8/10 town houses on the site. Once they have permission the warehouse will be sold onto a third party to complete the development.
